MYCOM OSI has announced a collaboration with open source solutions provider Red Hat with the aim of assuring and managing telco clouds.

When MYCOM OSI’s cloud-native Experience Assurance and Analytics (EAA) solution, which provides real time and automated assurance for end-to-end hybrid telco cloud networks, is deployed on Red Hat’s OpenStack Platform and OpenShift Container Platform, its capacity will not just be limited to dynamically discovering, monitoring and correlating vertical layers in NFV/SDN telco cloud architectures but also in providing assurance-driven closed loop network automation. This allows orchestrators (in virtual networks) and configuration management (in physical networks) to bring in reversals to optimise end-to-end network and service quality.

Darrell Jordan-Smith, vice president of Global Telecommunications and ICT at Red Hat, said: “We are pleased to underpin MYCOM OSI’s assurance and analytics solution with Red Hat’s highly scalable hybrid cloud and container-based technologies. Together, we are setting out to help operators better understand and act on the performance of their networks as they deliver on their network virtualization strategies.”

Alongside this, Red Hat has inked a definitive deal for the acquisition of Kubernetes and container-native solutions innovator CoreOS for $250 million. With the acquisition, as reported by sister publication CloudTech, Red Hat aims to further its vision of helping customers to formulate any application and deploy them in any environment with the elasticity afforded by open source.  The combination of CoreOS’s complementary capabilities with Red Hat’s broad Kubernetes and container-based portfolio, further fuels Red Hat’s aim to speed up adoption and development of the industry’s top hybrid cloud platform for contemporary application workloads.
