Singtel has unveiled RE:AI, a cloud service that aims to make AI technologies widely accessible to organisations.

RE:AI combines AI compute infrastructure – including graphics processing units (GPUs) and storage – with AI workspaces and tools, delivered through Singtel’s orchestration platform Paragon.

Bill Chang, CEO of Singtel’s Digital InfraCo, said: “Many enterprises and public sector customers have shown keen interest to bring AI into their operations.

“However, the high costs and long lead times for GPUs, the need for special environments to host them due to their intense energy utilisation, the complexity of AI technology and the lack of talent are key friction points in their respective journeys.”

The RE:AI platform seeks to address these challenges by providing a turnkey AI development and deployment solution. This approach allows customers to deploy, manage, and scale their AI applications without the overheads of complex infrastructure, potentially boosting innovation and productivity across various sectors.

Singtel’s strategy to democratise AI encompasses five key areas:

1. Creation of a research and development AI cloud platform
2. Facilitation of AI adoption for the advanced manufacturing sector
3. Ecosystem development to accelerate AI solution deployment
4. Curation of tech incubation and acceleration programmes
5. AI skills training to empower the workforce

To support these initiatives, Singtel has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with several partners. These collaborations aim to enhance AI adoption, provide GPU access, and support talent attraction, development, and skills upgrading in Singapore—aligning with the country’s National AI Strategy 2.0 framework.

Notable partnerships include:

• Collaboration with the National Supercomputing Centre Singapore and AI Singapore to develop an AI-powered research and development platform for the research community.
• Partnership with the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF), and Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) to promote AI adoption in the advanced manufacturing sector.
• Ecosystem development with AI companies such as AlphaSense, H2O.AI, Hippocratic.AI, and Hive AI to accelerate the deployment of AI solutions and services.
• Launch of an AI Accelerator Programme in collaboration with Digital Industry Singapore to attract and support AI tech companies.
• Cooperation with AI Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, and the National University of Singapore to develop AI training programmes for Singtel employees.

“With the launch of RE:AI, we’re significantly reducing entry barriers, making AI easily accessible to enterprises, government agencies, research communities and academia – the more people have access to AI, the more innovation is bound to emerge, which in turn fuels growth,” explains Chang.

The initiative is part of Singtel’s broader strategy to accelerate digital transformation for enterprises, starting with digital infrastructure and scalable AI solutions. This includes the development of sustainable, hyper-connected AI-ready data centres through its NXERA data centre arm.
