Ookla has published a new report that reveals which of the world’s capitals are enjoying the fastest 5G download speeds, or suffering the slowest.
As the owners of the industry-standard Speedtest service, Ookla has a huge amount of real-world data of the speeds that users are receiving across both mobile and broadband networks.
Oslo, Norway boasts the fastest 5G of any world capital, clocking a median download speed of 526.74 Mbps. Seoul, South Korea had the second fastest speed at 467.84 Mbps, while Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates took the bronze medal with 421.26 Mbps.
Cape Town, South Africa was the slowest world capital for 5G in Q1-Q2 2021 with a relatively pitiful 53.33 Mbps. Brasilia, Brazil (62.18 Mbps) and San Juan, Puerto Rico (72.59 Mbps) take second and third slowest 5G speeds, respectively.
