Nokia is expanding its Analytics Services, which will be powered by the Nokia AVA cognitive services platform, in order to unlock value from telco data, enabling an improved network issue resolution and fewer dropped calls for operators.
The new services are based on Nokia Shannon Intelligence, which integrates augmented intelligence throughout the company’s end-to-end portfolio.
The Nokia Analytics Services are multi-vendor capable and are built on several key features:
- Zero CAPEX commercial model delivers analytics solutions via Nokia AVA cloud native platform, linking payment to results
- DevOps approach ensures bi-weekly content development ‘sprints’ to address the fast pace of the IoT world
- Use case factory combines pre-packaged global use cases together with locally developed content to create highly tailored solutions
- Nokia AVA Knowledge Library to re-use code and curate best practice based on the experience of more than 30,000 Nokia services experts around the world
This news comes alongside various initiatives the company has made in recent weeks. Nokia’s subsidiary Bell Labs, along with several Finnish academics, established a 5G network project called WIVE (WIreless for VErticals) which aims to make it possible for new industries to gain competitive advantage of the fifth generation wireless systems. The WIVE project will cover media and entertainment, machine-type connectivity for application areas, which includes Ultra Reliable Low Latency Communications (URLLC) that serve smart grids and remotely controlled machines sectors, and Massive Machine Type Connectivity (mMTC) which allows a high number of devices to be connected with limited cost and energy consumption.
Elsewhere, Nokia Bell Labs is also collaborating with a variety of stakeholders for the next generation of 5G platform as a service (NGPaaS). The collaboration includes industry vendors, operators, IT companies, small and medium sized enterprises, as well as European academic institutions, to dedicate 24 months towards the advance of 5G.
