A five-year strategic partnership agreement announced between Nokia and Tele2 IoT will facilitate the delivery of Internet of Things (IoT) services to Tele2’s enterprise customers based on Nokia's worldwide IoT network grid (WING).
Using Nokia WING, Tele2 IoT will provide A to Z IoT services to its enterprise customers to mange their global connectivity requirements and assets such as connected vehicles or connected freight containers. The enterprise customers of Tele2 IoT are spread across several industries including transport, healthcare, smart cities and utilities. With a worldwide IoT network access, Tele2 IoT customers will benefit from low latency, round the clock troubleshooting (provided as a managed service) and advanced enterprise onboarding.
With the aim of bringing in further acceleration to the global IoT ecosystem, both the parties have also agreed to collaborate and partner on numerous advanced technologies such as 5G, Narrowband IoT (NB-IoT), LTE for machine-to-machine (LTE-M), SIM management and analytics.
Ankur Bhan, head of WING at Nokia, said: "Nokia WING will enable Tele2 IoT to offer its enterprise customers a global service with flexible control, low latency and high levels of efficiency and enterprise automation. Together we will work on enabling new IoT solutions that can be adopted in various industries to deliver seamless, reliable and efficient processes to help businesses run more intelligently."
Nokia WING is nominated for a Global Mobile Award in the 'Best Mobile Network Infrastructure' for the 2018 Mobile World Congress. In 2017, Nokia WING came out as the winner in IoT leadership at the TechXLR8 Awards and was given the Global Telecoms' highly commended' award in 'IoT initiative of the year' category.
Nokia also recently announced, as this publication reported, that it will introduce the world’s first MulteFire small cell to help enterprises, smart cities and mobile service providers leverage global unlicensed spectrum for reliable, secure, high- capacity and high-coverage private LTE networks.
