Denmark gains nationwide IoT LoRaWAN network through dual deal

Teracom, a Denmark-based telecommunication operator along with Loriot, an IoT infrastructure provider have announced the completion of a nationwide IoT LoRaWAN network in Denmark. 

Both firms are taking major steps in order to strengthen their existing partnership that focuses on providing the best possible coverage and service quality within the country.

Ericsson signs deal with TDC to enable ‘Digital Denmark’ through 5G

Danish telecom giant TDC Group has selected Ericsson to deploy commercial 5G across the country.

The collaboration, which is part of a major network overhaul, will offer services through the Ericsson Operations Engine and enable the company to drive its ‘Digital Denmark’ campaign by assisting mobile broadband subscribers, enterprises, and industries to capitalise on 5G, IoT, and Industry 4.0.

China Unicom demonstrates how 5G will make classrooms smarter

China Unicom has teamed up with game developer NetDragon WebSoft to demonstrate the possibilities enabled by a 5G-powered classroom.

The partners held a conference titled ‘5G + Smart Education Industry’ in Wuhan, the capital city of the Hubei Province in central China, to show off their innovations.

GSMA says low power mobile IoT networks now available from all leading operators worldwide

GSMA has announced that mobile IoT or low power wide area (LPWA) networks are now available across the globe in licenced spectrum in 49 markets.

Spark’s Cat-M1 IoT network now covers 98% of New Zealand’s population

Verizon halved 5G latency using edge computing

US telecommunications giant Verizon has employed the use of edge computing in a successful bid to slash 5G latency in half.

5G is set to cut latency over its predecessors, meaning reduced time for information to make a roundtrip. This will open a range of possibilities for things such as video games, real-time VR, and even remote surgeries.
